Lethal sea lion removal recommendations offered by the “Pinniped-Fishery Interaction Task Force” earlier this month need considerable refinement, and sharper focus, if they are to be legally implemented on the Columbia River, according to a panel charged with providing independent oversight of federal agencies’ marine mammal conservation policies and programs.
