In the Feb. 11, 2011, CBB story “Council Rejects State Agencies’ Funding Request For More Sea Lion Traps At Bonneville Dam” the information about Washington Northwest Power and Conservation member Tom Karier’s vote was incorrect. The story said that Karier reluctantly voted against the funding request. The motion before the council was to “not” support the funding request. Karier and Oregon member Bill Bradbury voted against the motion – in essence, supporting the funding. The story posted at http://www.cbbulletin.com/405384.aspx
has been updated to accurately describe the vote.
The complete motion by Washington Council Member Dick Wallace was: “Moved that the Council recommend that Bonneville (Power Administration) not implement Project 2008-003-00, Removal of Sea Lions at Bonneville Dam, for the reasons presented by staff and recommended by the Fish and Wildlife Committee.” The vote was 6-2 in favor of the motion.
